Residential Structure Fire - Bunola River Road - Forward Township

Units were alerted at 00:18 AM for a Residential Structure Fire on Bunola River Road in Forward Township. 139 Chief arrived and confirmed a working fire. 139 Engine arrived and began stretching attack lines to get water on the fire. 154 Engine arrived next and was instructed to lay out a supply line to supply 139 Engine. Due to an inadequate water system in the area, Tankers were called in to provide a backup water supply. Crews worked aggressively to quickly extinguish the fire and spent the next several hours onscene performing overhaul and assisting the Allegheny County Fire Marshall.

Shortly after 18:30, Gallatin Sunnyside VFD, Forward Township VFC and Central VFC of Elizabeth Township were alerted for a Person approximately 40-50 feet over a hillside in a ravine in the area of Saddlers Hollow Road.

The Rescue was alerted at 6:24 this morning for a 2 vehicle crash with unknown injuries at the intersection of Rainbow Run and Grandma Lane. While enroute, an update was given of a head on crash with 2 confined to the vehicles.

Crews from Rostraver Central Fire Department were alerted for a possible aircraft crash at the Rostraver Airport around 19:00 hours. Upon arrival at the airport they notified Allegheny County 911 that the crash was going to be in Forward Township, a 1/2 mile North of the airport.

Just after 7:00 this morning your volunteers were alerted to a vehicle crash on Route 51 across from The Kickstand. Units arrived to find a dump truck over the hillside in the creek and another car with minor damage still on the roadway, both with negative entrapment.

154 Engine was alerted at 12:15 for a possible vehicle fire at the intersection of Bunola River Road and Elkhorn Road. 139 Chief arrived onscene and confirmed the working fire. 154 Engine was the first arriving engine and quickly initiated an attack on the fire resulting in a quick knock down.
